Overview

Located on the A3 road linking London to Portsmouth, the Hindhead tunnels provide a safe route through the Devils Punchbowl, a site of special scientific interest and a notoriously high accident rate. In order to help improve roadway efficiency and heighten safety, Electrosonic provided the orginal videowall installation for the tunnels when they first opened in 2011. Electrosonic has now upgraded the system, with higher specification videowall projection cubes.

During 2015, Highways England expanded the capability of its Eastern Regional Control Centre at South Mimms. With their existing dynamic display system reaching its tenth year in operation, a superior replacement was required in order to cope with increased operational demand. The Eastern Control Centre has 20 operator positions, of which, four are designated for training and two, which are in a separate room are used during major incidents. Images can be selected from approximately 870 cameras.

The new Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) offers passengers a unique travel experience with its Integrated Environmental Media System (IEMS), a series of seven digital media features integrated into the interior architecture. Electrosonic was tasked by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) with the engineering and system integration of the IEMS components, and the build out of the IEMS control room.

LKAB Visitor Centre

LKAB (Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag) is the world’s technical leader in supplying iron ore pellets, acquired from underground mining, to the global steel industry. The company’s new research centre in Koskullskulle, Sweden, features a visitor centre that welcomes guests to the Malmberget mine. Electrosonic was tasked by LKAB consultant WSP with designing and engineering the audio-visual facilities at the visitor centre, including its showpiece video wall comprised of 192 video tiles.

National World War II Museum

Visitors to the National World War II Museum in New Orleans are moved and excited by its unique new immersive film attraction, “Beyond All Boundaries,” which not only tells the story of the “war that changed the world” but also breaks boundaries of its own in 4D cinema experiences.  Electrosonic was responsible for the design and integration of the Audio Visual and show control system for what Tom Brokaw called “the most significant cinematic piece on World War II.”

Santa Barbara County Emergency Operations Center

The County of Santa Barbara’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) helps the county maintain a state of readiness to manage emergencies swiftly and effectively. Before its construction, the county operated without a dedicated facility, resulting in several hours of setup before operations were functional. Now, the new EOC features extensive audio, video and data support provided by Electrosonic to facilitate the sharing of information from various internal and external sources, such as news media, incident maps, live video streams and operational reports.

Caltrans District 7 called upon Electrosonic to upgrade the audio-visual system at its Los Angeles facility with a new videowall that takes advantage of the latest in projection technology. Used for traffic monitoring, the videowall comprises a 12-screen center unit in a 4x3 configuration flanked by a pair of 6-screen 3x2 units. The giant wall features 80-inch diagonal screens in the center and 52-inch screens on the sides.

Bristol Water

The UK’s Bristol Water is responsible for the water supply in the Bristol area for nearly 1.2 million people, covering a 926 square-mile region. After working in a cluttered workspace with a system developed piecemeal over the last two decades, Bristol Water decided to completely upgrade its operational control room with a new display system that helps provide improved monitoring and more efficient working conditions.
