Overview

Mass Effect: New Earth takes visitors on a journey to the faraway lands of the Terra Nova, immersing them in the sights, sounds and scents that intergalactic space travel can offer. The show employs the highest resolution, holographic, 3D LED screen in the world, based on 3D Live’s patented high-resolution 3D LED panel. 3D Live, specialists in immersion and 3D, partnered with Electrosonic to create Mass Effect: New Earth, a theatre based attraction at California’s Great America theme park in Santa Clara, California. The 4.5-minute ride is based on Electronic Arts’ “Mass Effect” sci-fi videogame franchise developed by BioWare. Electrosonic installed a full-range audio system for the new ride and installed and programmed its video playback and show control systems.

Overview

“Beyond Rubik’s Cube” opened in 2014 to celebrate 40 years of the colourful Rubik’s Cube. The 7,000 square foot exhibit features three exploration zones with the themes of Invent, Play and Inspire. They offer tantalising puzzles, robotic manipulations, music, art and original artefacts, which become creative platforms for the exploration of Professor Ernő Rubik’s Cube and the culture it has inspired. The exhibition was designed by Liberty Science Centre’s Exhibits Development Group and fabricated by Maltbie, a Kubik company, who appointed Electrosonic to take responsibility for audio-visual design, integration and installation.

Polynesian Cultural Center’s Digital 4D Theater

The Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) in Laie, Hawaii, enables visitors to explore all of the Polynesian cultures in the South Pacific. Set on 42 acres on the North Shore of Oahu, PCC has welcomed over 37 million guests since opening, becoming Hawaii’s number-one paid attraction. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, PCC upgraded its aging film-based IMAX theater, which was more than 20 years old, with a new digital 4D theater featuring audio-visual support from Electrosonic.

The Marvel Experience

“The Marvel Experience” is an immersive touring attraction produced by Hero Ventures that provides Marvel fans with the opportunity to become agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in training. Visitors use numerous interactives, augmented reality technology and multi-person gaming, to join Spider-Man, Hulk and Iron Man in a fight against Red Skull, M.O.D.O.K. and an army of evil Adaptoids. The attraction is currently touring North America with plans for multiple international locations.

LKAB Visitor Centre

Overview

LKAB (Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag) is the world’s technical leader in supplying iron ore pellets, acquired from underground mining, to the global steel industry. In 2012 it opened a new research centre in Koskullskullle that includes a visitor centre which welcomes guests to the nearby Malmberget mine. The centre includes a flexible presentation space which can seat up to 120 people and includes a showpiece videowall comprosed of 192 Christie MicroTiles. Electrosonic was responsible for the audio-visual systems design and integration, working to the requirements of LKAB's consultant WSP.

Overview

The Family Entertainment Centre at the 360 Mall in Kuwait offers top-of-the-line rides, the latest video games and skills tests for the entire family. Electrosonic designed, supplied, installed and programmed extensive LED lighting, digital signage, video projection, special effects, audio and show control for the new complex. The centre was created by the Tamdeen Entertainment Company and designed by Concept i Design, to the highest international standards of world-class leisure venues.

Secret War Time Tunnels, Dover

On 10 June 2011, English Heritage opened the doors to their new attraction “Operation Dynamo: Rescue from Dunkirk”. The network of Secret Wartime Tunnels stretches 60m in length, twenty-six metres deep underground, behind the White Cliffs of Dover. Audio-visual technology is used throughout the eight zones to re-create the drama of the Dunkirk evacuation.

China State Shipbuilding Pavilion

Its arc structure resembling the keel of a ship, the China State Shipbuilding Pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai China showcases the nation’s time-honored history of shipbuilding and is one of the few pavilions that will remain as a museum after the Expo concludes.  Electrosonic provided the extensive audio, video and show-control systems for the pavilion that enable visitors to explore the role of shipping in China’s past, investigate exciting concepts for future floating cities and farms, and simulate navigation.  Electrosonic was challenged to deliver multi-image and edge-blended displays onto unusual surfaces; and furnish immersive interactive experiences for visitors.
