Electrosonic is pleased to announce its acquisition of Global Immersion, a leader in the design and integration of high performance digital immersive theater attractions. Global Immersion will continue to serve the planetarium, institutional theater and giant screen markets.
The acquisition, completed on December 10, 2012, positions Electrosonic as the only company to offer digital immersive solutions across the theme park, museum, giant screen cinema and planetarium markets.

Founded in 2007, Global Immersion is renowned for its work with highly specialized and technically-complex digital immersive theaters. The company has won multiple project and business awards, and has established a solid base of digital immersive theater attractions worldwide. Its project portfolio includes the California Academy of Sciences, Adler Planetarium, Moscow Planetarium, Swedish Museum of Natural History, Peoria Riverfront Museum and Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.

Electrosonic's audio-visual accomplishments have been recognized by five projects honoured with Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement at the 19th Annual Thea Awards. Electrosonic played key roles in five very diverse Thea Award Winners:
- “Radiator Springs Racers” at Disney California Adventure Park (Attraction category)
- “Transformers: The Ride 3D” at Universal Studios Singapore and Universal Studios Hollywood (Attraction category)
- Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in Calgary (Museum category)
- Living Screen display at the "Big-O Experience" at Yeosu 2012 International Expo in Korea (Event category)
- “Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter” in London (Studio Tour category)
The awards will be presented April 6, 2013, at a gala dinner at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

Electrosonic exhibited at the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2012 held in Orlando, FL, and offered attendees a place to learn more about the company's systems integration, design and service solutions in the Entertainment market. Electrosonic's booth featured a video montage that highlighted the company's high profile projects in the theme parks and attractions industry.
IAAPA is the largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities. The Expo provides attendees an opportunity to discover new ideas and business solutions, the best products and services, and unsurpassed networking with attractions industry operators and suppliers from around the world.

The 2012 winners of the annual AV Awards were announced on October 12 at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Electrosonic took home the 'Integrator of the Year' award. In addition, Electrosonic was awarded the 'Consumer Installation of the Year' award for The European Parliament's Visitors' Centre, Parlamentarium. These recent wins take Electrosonic’s AV Awards total to twenty-six since the event started in 1999.
The AV Awards is managed by the UK-based AV Magazine, but judged independently by senior representatives from user companies and key industry players. It is considered to be one of the most prestigious awards in the AV industry in the United Kingdom.

Electrosonic's AV accomplishment at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences’ Nature Research Center (NRC) has been recognized with a 'Silver Winner' Award for Best Museum Environment at the 2012 Event Design Awards. Working closely with Andrew Merriell & Associates, Maltbie, Batwin + Robin, Sosolimited, and Hypersonic, Electrosonic enhanced the visitor experience at NRC with an array of unique interactive exhibits and experiences featuring audio-visual systems. The most impressive of which is the SECU Daily Planet, a globe-shaped structure cantilevered onto the building and spanning the three-story wing; the Daily Planet is an immersive multimedia theater with a 40x40-foot high-definition screen, which offers a massive visual canvas to visitors on all three floors.
Presented by Event Design, the Event Design Awards recognize the best among this industry’s change agents. The chosen award-winning projects reflect how the world’s best creative studios are reinventing experience design across all categories.

Electrosonic's Robert Simpson Explores "3D + 4D Attractions" for the Attractions Management Handbook
Electrosonic Founder Director Robert Simpson delves into the latest developments in "3D + 4D Attractions" in his article for the Attractions Management Handbook 2012-2013. While emphasizing that the best attractions rely primarily on their stories, Simpson explores the importance of having a complementary mixed media show to really bring an attraction to life. The concept of 3D and 4D are defined, as well as accompanied by recent attractions employing the technologies.
The Attractions Management Handbook is "the global resource for attractions professionals". Distributed annually, the handbook brings together the latest research and developments in the attractions industry and provides important reference content.
Electrosonic’s Robert Simpson Joins Panel at the Creative Services Summit Hosted by the British Business Embassy
Electrosonic Founder Director Robert Simpson joined a panel discussion at the Creative Services Summit held on 30 July 2012 at Lancaster House. This forum was one of 17 global business summits being hosted by the British Business Embassy during the six weeks of the Olympic Games. Run by UK Trade & Investment, these summits are regarded as the largest set of trade and investment events ever held in England, and allow business leaders and policymakers from the UK and around the world exchange ideas, discuss economic challenges and develop partnerships for growth.
Electrosonic, leading audio-visual design, integration and service company, has been short listed for four awards at this year’s AV Awards.
The annual awards ceremony taking place on Friday 12 October at The Hilton on Park Lane, will see Electrosonic nominated in four categories, including ‘Consumer Installation of the Year’, for AV integration at the European Parliament Visitors Centre in Brussels, ‘Education Project of the Year’, for the MediaCityUK installation at Salford University, 'In-house AV Team of the Year’ for in-house AV operations and engineering support for global financial services firm Morgan Stanley, and ‘Integrator of the Year’.
Since 2003 Electrosonic has won a total of twenty-four AV awards across a range of disciplines including ’Service Company of the Year’, ‘Systems Company of the Year’, ‘Business Installation of the Year’ and ‘Consumer Installation of the Year’.

Electrosonic accepted two awards at the 2012 PRO AV Spotlight Awards: the Best Entertainment/Arts Project for AT&T Dolphin Tales at Georgia Aquarium and the Best Museum AV Project for the National Museum of American Jewish History.
In its fifth year, the Spotlight Awards recognize the industry's best audio-visual installations in a range of distinct categories. The Awards honor technical design, innovation, and how instrumental the AV installation is to the clients’ missions. In partnership with Sound & Video Contractor and InfoComm International, the Spotlight Awards were featured in a special ceremony at the InfoComm 2012 trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
